Forecasters promise a hot August and a warm Indian summer - a time of light dress and, of course, open slippers. However, such shoes have their respective needs. Yellow damaged nails look not smooth, must be hidden in a closed nose. This can of course ruin the joy of the summer weather. Fungus is often the cause of these nails.
Fungi cause onychomycosis - one of the most unpleasant diseases. Moreover, contrary to popular belief, it is not safe at all. If the fungus is not treated, it will grow, take up a large portion of human skin, and can then cause damage to a person’s internal organs.
Parents are at risk
Doctors say that often lovers of saunas and baths are infected with nail fungus, the surface of which is not cleaned and disinfected. Fungus in such places is "steamed", detached from the feet of the infected person and easily attaches to others.
However, you can pick up the fungus in a place that seems safe - for example, at a party. If the host has nail fungus, and guests put slippers on their bare feet, then most likely they will be infected.
Once in the human body, the fungus grows for a long time, and it is very difficult to see its presence. The first step is to notice the discoloration of the nail plate, it becomes cloudy or yellow, - says the head of the dermatology department, a dermatologist.
Itching appears between the toes and a painful odor from the feet. It should be clarified that although often the fungus appears on the toenails, this does not mean that it is only localized there. The fungus affects the nails on the feet and hands, as well as the skin of the feet, hands, and the whole body. Exfoliation usually appears on the skin - in the form of plates, rings, and possibly flour -like (when the skin grooves are sprinkled with flour, as before). The appearance of bubbles, which can explode and burst, is possible. Nails can thicken, crumble, separate from the nail bed, change color. In further cases, even a person’s internal organs suffer.
Men aged 20 to 50 are considered a risk group for nail fungus, as they are more likely to be in a place where you can be infected with nail fungus. However, doctors state that almost everyone can be infected with onychomycosis.
90% of nail fungus is caused by dermatophytes and fungi. Dermatophytes are transmitted through direct contact (especially among family members) and through household items. Yeast fungi cause disease when the immune system is weakened.
In particular, as explained by doctors, people with reduced immunity become infected. Therefore, at risk are people of pre -retirement and retirement age, or suffering from chronic illnesses.
A complex approach
To treat nail fungus, like other diseases, you need to see a doctor. Also, you need to first make an analysis - scraping to find out the type of disease the patient is suffering from. At the same time, because the heart of the fungus (mycelium), as a rule, is located far below the nail plate, and its spores are on the surface of the nail, then it is necessary to treat the fungus thoroughly.
Lasers, ointments and creams prescribed by doctors are considered effective treatment methods. And experts consider pedicures as a treatment assistant, not just ordinary, but also medical pedicures.
The fact is that the fungus changes the nail strongly, making it thick. This is of course ugly, but the main thing is that this shape of the nail complicates treatment, as it becomes more difficult to get to the mycelium. Medical pedicures are a preparation for the quality treatment of nail fungus.
However, experts warn that such pedicures should not be done in a beauty salon. Removal of calluses, corns, cracks on the skin and correction of nails affected by the fungus for further procedures can only be done at the clinic. To work with a damaged leg, special tools are needed, which are usually not installed in beauty salons - this is a medical technique. And the master who performs this procedure has a certificate in medical pedicure and even medical education.
